On July 27, the Mary Magdalene Chapter of The Daughters of the King® installed a new member and commissioned its officers. Rev. Rik, who serves as chapter chaplain , led the service to install Veronica D. as a new member and then commission her as President and Tammy T. as Treasurer.

The Daughters of the King® is an order for women whose mission is the extension of Christ's Kingdom, especially among women and girls, through prayer, service and evangelism.

St. Paul's has a long history with the Daughters of the King going back to the 1890s.

The 1894 Sacramento Bee supplement Resources of Sacramento County noted the work of St. Paul's chapter of the time: “There are several well organized benevolent societies and institutions in Sacramento City… The Daughters of the King, St. Agnes Chapter of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, are doing much praiseworthy work in assisting the poor.”
