The Great Vigil of Easter service begins with kindling of new fire and the lighting the Paschal candle. The Hebrew Scriptures are read, interspersed with prayers, followed by renewal of Baptismal vows. With shouts of "Alleluia," the Easter Gospel is proclaimed and the first Eucharist of Easter is celebrated! This service includes incense.
